Our Mission
We are a 501c3 Non-Profit dedicated to educating people on the efficacy of Chinese medicine by removing financial, cultural and educational barriers to patients access to acupuncture, herbs and preventative care. Our aim is to introduce the health benefits of eastern medicine through free acupuncture, herbal medicine, lifestyle and nutritional counseling while breaking down barriers hindering marginalized and underserved communities including people of color, lgbtq+, senior citizens, students and those suffering from trauma and addiction. AIF believes in the full scope of Chinese medicine and how it can help keep our communities healthy and thriving.
Why is AIF Needed
North Carolina’s uninsured rate is 20.3% which is significantly higher than the national average making it the 9th highest uninsured state in the nation.
Despite having insurance coverage, individuals may still face the challenge of exorbitantly high deductibles, coupled with limited access to preventive and holistic healthcare options. Furthermore, there is an insufficient awareness and exposure on the benefits of this whole medical system.
Buncombe county's median household income falls below state benchmarks, exacerbating the inaccessibility of acupuncture for those in need.
You add in an opioid crisis, mental health crisis, an increase in poor overall health and chronic conditions, lack of affordable housing and inhumane immigration policies, has led to an unimaginable healthcare crisis in our country.
Acupuncture Impact Foundation is seeking to change the system by not only providing free acupuncture, herbal medicine and holistic education, but also reimagining what healthcare can be. Wellness that encompasses prevention, education, mindfulness, and addressing the causes of disease. And this quality of healthcare should never be tiered based on your economic status.
What sets Acupuncture Impact Foundation (AIF), apart is:
The body is more receptive to healing when the mind, nervous system and spirit are at ease. All acupuncture treatment rooms are provided in private treatment rooms, designed with intention, featuring aromatherapy, quality linens, table warmers, and infrared heat lamps, creating an atmosphere of warm hospitality where wellness flourishes.
Our commitment to providing complimentary herbal remedies with all our treatments. The power of herbal medicine sustains and reinforces the benefits of acupuncture, promoting continuous balance within the body. Whether internal or external, these herbs are offered free of charge, ensuring that our patients have access to holistic care that extends beyond the treatment room. By integrating herbal remedies into our approach, we not only support ongoing wellness but also empower individuals to take an active role in their healing journey.
Swannanoa Zero-Cost Sundays
(for residents of swannanoa, black Mountain, Fairview + East Asheville to help recover from the effects of hurricane Helene)
Our Zero-Cost Sundays offer acupuncture treatments in a private, serene setting, providing the same exceptional care as any paid service. We believe that healing is most effective in an environment that is warm, welcoming, and centered on individualized attention. Our treatments include a range of adjunct techniques, such as cupping, moxibustion, essential oils, as well as herbal medicine, including both internal herbs and topical liniments. We are committed to ensuring that EVERYONE receives the highest quality care, regardless of financial or cultural boundaries. Each session is 50 minutes, thoughtfully curated to meet your unique needs.

MOBILE CLINIC
Our dream project is to outfit a Mobile Acupuncture Clinic that we can take to the communities we want to serve. Going mobile, we would be able to expand our impact. We'd be able to reach more people who might not have the ability to come to us. We could also travel to areas affected by disaster, where people are experiencing enormous stress.
BRICK + MORTAR
Since our for-profit business provides acupuncture services six days of the week, we currently provide care on Sundays for free, but would love to acquire a building specifically for Acupuncture Impact Foundation to provide Free Acupuncture 7 days a week!
